This pattern was inspired by Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sandra Day O’Connor. It’s part of my 2022 project, “Above and Beyond - A Celebration of Women in History through Print and Pattern”.

Inside Lining: Natural Cotton Canvas with two interior flat pockets

Exterior Dimensions: 14 inches wide x 10 inches high x 6 inches deep

I created the bag design, designed the fabric, screen printed the fabric, then sewed it all together with care.

Because this item is handmade, the print / pattern may vary.

Care instructions: Spot clean only. Waxed canvas may feel slightly tacky at first, but the wax will wear into the fabric, which creates a rugged appearance; perfect for the rainy Pacific Northwest.

I needed a new knitting tote, so I looked everywhere--and I mean everywhere! All over the web until I found Justice, a bag designed to honor Sandra O'Connor and Ruth Ginsberg, two of the justices to ever serve on SCOTUS. Lots of room inside for the two balls of yarn I'm using, some tools, the pattern, cough drops, and a candy bar! I could get a bottle of water and my phone in there if needed. You know that these bags get hauled along to work, Dr's appts, kids games. This sturdy, well-made tote will be my happy companion for years to come!

Another beautiful handmade creation from the hands of Heidi. This is my second purchase from her shop (I now have a gorgeous set in the Justice pattern!) and I will keep my eyes open for future offerings. It is hard to be patient while these bags are being created (they are made to order.) But, trust me, they are absolutely worth the wait!!

I have been admiring Heidi West Designs for a loong time!! This beautiful bag is exactly as shown. The fabric is sturdy and does not collapse. It is the size of a tote bag and can fit up to 4+ skeins of yarn, as well as accessories, or a project. Two inside pockets are deep and wide. Not too large in size and looks good, too! The neutral tones are perfect for any outfit.
