This pattern was inspired by Florence Nightingale, social reformer, statistician and founder of modern nursing. It’s part of my 2022 project, “Above and Beyond - A Celebration of Women in History through Print and Pattern”.
This waxed canvas water-resistant tote bag can be used as an everyday purse, gym bag, knitting or crochet project bag.
Features:
- Unique screen printed fabric panels on both sides
- Three exterior pockets for phone, keys, etc., including one snap closure pocket on the backside
- Two interior flat pockets
- Leather straps with 10” drop

Front and Back Panel Fabric: Cotton Canvas
Waxed Canvas Body: Chocolate Brown Waxed Canvas
Inside Lining: Cotton Canvas
Exterior Dimensions (top folded): 12.5 inches wide at bottom (17.5 inches wide at top) x 12.5 inches high x 5.5 inches deep
I created the bag design, designed the front panel fabric, screen printed the fabric panel and then sewed it all together with care.
Because this item is handmade, the print / pattern may vary.
Care instructions: Spot clean only. Waxed canvas may feel slightly tacky at first, but the wax will wear into the fabric, which creates a rugged appearance; perfect for the rainy Pacific Northwest.

Love, love, love this bag! So excited to start using it. It’s excellent quality, well made and so attractive. I know I will be getting lots of compliments on it. Heidi delivered as promised. I have many project bags for my knitting- this is absolutely the most beautiful bag I have ever purchased. The quality puts other high-end project bags to shame for about half the price. This is my second bag from this shop and I highly recommend it and this responsive seller. It stands flat on its own- which is great for travel knitting in the car or at the knitting group and holds a sweater project, yarn, notions and my iPad Pro with room to spare. I can’t recommend this enough.
