This pattern was inspired by Florence Nightingale, social reformer, statistician and founder of modern nursing. It’s part of my 2022 project, “Above and Beyond - A Celebration of Women in History through Print and Pattern”.
This small waxed canvas hip bag is perfect for your essentials like your wallet, sunglasses and keys. It’s also water resistant. It can be worn cross-body, around your hips or over your shoulder.

I created the bag design, designed the front panel fabric, screen printed the fabric panel and then sewed it all together in Portland, Oregon.
Because this item is handmade, the print/pattern may vary.
Care instructions: Spot clean only. Waxed canvas may feel slightly tacky at first, but the wax will wear into the fabric, which creates a rugged appearance; perfect for the rainy Pacific Northwest.

Bought this and other small matching bags to go inside a larger knitting tote. Love all of them! Great quality and design. The tote has many roomy pockets and stays open with the metal framework at the opening. I fit 5 skeins of yarn, along with needles, workbook, instructions, and other small knitting tools inside. Yet the tote is not large or bulky. Looking forward to using these bags in flight on my next trip. Would definitely purchase again from this shop!

Exactly as pictured. These little bags are great for grocery store trips. Sometimes I attach a wrist strap and use it as a clutch. This is my 4th bag from Heidi and I’d buy every pattern if I could! In time, in time lol! Thank you for another great bag☺️

I ordered this in a custom fabric (I looked up on Heidi’s Instagram page) and I love it! I wanted to use it when I want something smaller for quick errands. She was very accommodating. One of my favorite bag makers on Etsy!
