This pattern was inspired by Virginia Lacey Jones, American Librarian. It’s part of my 2022 project, “Above and Beyond - A Celebration of Women in History through Print and Pattern”.

I created the bag design, designed the front panel fabric, screen printed the fabric panel and then sewed it all together in Portland, Oregon.

Because this item is handmade, the print/pattern may vary.

Care instructions: Spot clean only. Waxed canvas may feel slightly tacky at first, but the wax will wear into the fabric, which creates a rugged appearance; perfect for the rainy Pacific Northwest.

I got my tuxedo bag today and it’s amazing! I already had the eyeglass case and makeup case and I loved them so much so I decided that I wanted the purse and bag. The seller didn’t have any of the messenger bags made in the tuxedo print so I sent her a message asking if it was possible for her to make one for me. I explained that I lost a tuxedo tabby cat that was dear to me two years ago and that it would mean a lot and she got right back to me and let me know that she would be happy to do that for me.
